Kolkata City Tram - heading towards Tollygunge

Painting on paper
© Shubhankar  Adhikari

We all know that Kolkata is the only city in India where trams are still running actively. Here I have painted a Tollygunge bound tram crossing the ever green Esplanade (Maidan) area of Kolkata. This place is really beautiful for open air painting. Anyone can view the vast green surroundings sitting leisurely. Trams are very frequent in this route.

I like trams very much because they are environment friendly and comfortable. I think trams should be introduced in other cities of India also. Pollution is a big problem these days. So to protect our earth from pollution we should use more electric transport system.
