watercolor on paper (size- 14' x 11')

The Memorial Chorten in Thimpu was built in 1974. The Memorial Chorten is dedicated to Bhutan's third king,His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (the father of modern Bhutan ) Bhutan is a dream travel destination for me. I was enthralled with the beauty of nature ,hospitality of the people, discipline in city life in Bhutan. This painting is the result of my digging the past memory of my Bhutan tour. I made an initial sketch from a photo I had snapped near this Memorial. I had visited Bhutan before 2000.  A major renovation was made to this memorial in the year 2008.

Dream Home

© Shubhankar Adhikari

Title- DREAM  HOME
Watercolour on paper ( Size -11'x 7.5')

This painting is the result of bold brush technique. I have used here flat brushes as well as  rigger brushes to bring this effect. Also used the white of the paper in the foreground . I often love to create  fully imaginative painting like this .
